Unleash Your Creativity at Terrapin Studios
Terrapin Studios is a haven for art enthusiasts of all ages regardless of skill or experience. Our paint your own pottery studio offers a relaxing space where you can unleash your creativity and paint your own pottery. Prices range from $6 to $160 per piece, and the cost includes studio time, all supplies, and the post-painting finishing and firing process, all handled by our expert team. We also host after-hours parties and events for groups of 5 or more, with a $150 deposit to reserve the materials and time, and a $100 party fee for up to 6 people, plus an additional $10 per person for larger groups. ("After hours" is anytime the studio is closed or by appointment only)

Mahjong 101 with certified instructor Andrew - Friday, July 24 at 6 PM
Discover American Mahjong in a hands-on beginner class, then finish the experience by creating a ceramic dice or trinket dish with Terrapin Studios!
Registration includes all mahjong learning materials, instruction, and your pottery project.
Sip and paint Karaoke Night! Friday, July 17 at 6 PM
Come sing karaoke and paint some Pottery! Feel free to bring your own beverages. Purchase of pottery is required and price var on what you select.
$5 deposit required in addition to the price of the piece(s) you select to paint.
Stoneware Bouquet Vase Class - Saturday 7/25 at noon
Take a break from the ordinary and learn how to create this beautiful stoneware vase. Stoneware is more durable and can take higher heat than earthenware, therefore is the perfect material for getting these beautiful drips and variations.
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $50 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Plant Bingo - Friday 7/10 @ 6pm
Plant Bingo! 🪴
$30pp to sign up (not applied to pottery) and includes 2 bingo cards the first 5 rounds then one card the rest of the plays.
Includes drinks (Water or Lacroix and popcorn/chexmix)
Pottery is purchased at time of event.
(Please arrive 30 min early chose your pottery and get settled in for the fun!)
Winners will receive a plant (from Feed & Seed) and a ready to paint bisque planter you can paint at a later date at half the cost of all inclusive price.
Make your own Terrarium - Saturday, July 18 at 12:30 PM
Come create and learn to maintain your very own terrarium! Each participant will receive a 16oz jar with lid, variety of drainage rock / sand, soil and plants. Class cost is $40 per person and other terrariums will be available for purchase. Feel free to BYOB or light snacks to enjoy while you create!
$20 non-refundable deposit due to reserve all materials with the additional $20 due at the time of the event.
Fluted Stoneware Platter - 6/24 at 5:30pm
Come learn the various glazing techniques and create your custom platter. Great for serving, or on the coffee table as display pieces. Colors are totally customizable to your aesthetic.

Peacock Bowl Project - Sat 7/11 @noon
Come learn how to create this beautiful bowl with me! If you don’t like blues, you are welcome to choose different colors. this is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you! This class is appropriate for all ages so long as there is parental supervision.
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.

Item Pick Up Policy
Don’t Leave Us Hanging!
Pick-Up Deadline: Finished pieces must be picked up within 30 days from the date of purchase receipt.
Unclaimed Pottery after no 30-day pickup: If pottery remains unclaimed after the storage period, some pieces may be selected for an annual auction/sale, with proceeds donated. Unselected pieces will be disposed of.

We have hundreds of styles of unfinished pottery ready to decorate! You select your piece, chose your colors, and create your masterpiece. After closing, we do the glazing and firing to turn your piece into a beautiful work of art!

Our pottery ranges in price from $6 to $160, with most options around $30 per piece. Firing is done on Mondays. Pickups will be the Tuesday after you paint. We do not offer shipping.

My name is Kim Roland, and I opened Terrapin Studios in November of 2024.

My name is Kim Roland, and I opened Terrapin Studios in November of 2024.
After losing my husband to cancer in 2023, I was craving a way to create something where I could be available to my daughters, and also share my love of creativity and togetherness within my community. This lead to my decision to start this business.
A little about me...I received my Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Interior Design from Winthrop University. Throughout my career, my main focus has been hand rendering, space layouts, finish selections and the more creative side of interior design.
Years ago, I had the opportunity to be an adjunct professor at Winthrop University. I taught classes on design and color theory, hand lettering, model building, architectural design, etc. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for teaching and working with people in creative environments.
I am thrilled for this chance to pursue my dream of owning my own business and spreading my love of art and teaching to my beloved community in Ridgeland and surrounding Low country areas.
