Terrapin Studios is a haven for art enthusiasts of all ages regardless of skill or experience. Our paint your own pottery studio offers a relaxing space where you can unleash your creativity and paint your own pottery. Prices range from $6 to $160 per piece, and the cost includes studio time, all supplies, and the post-painting finishing and firing process, all handled by our expert team. We also host after-hours parties and events for groups of 5 or more, with a $150 deposit to reserve the materials and time, and a $100 party fee for up to 6 people, plus an additional $10 per person for larger groups. ("After hours" is anytime the studio is closed or by appointment only)

We have hundreds of styles of unfinished pottery ready to decorate! You select your piece, chose your colors, and create your masterpiece. After closing, we do the glazing and firing to turn your piece into a beautiful work of art!

Our pottery ranges in price from $6 to $160, with most options around $30 per piece. Firing is done on Mondays. Pickups will be the Tuesday after you paint. We do not offer shipping.

My name is Kim Roland, and I opened Terrapin Studios in November of 2024.
After losing my husband to cancer in 2023, I was craving a way to create something where I could be available to my daughters, and also share my love of creativity and togetherness within my community. This lead to my decision to start this business.
A little about me...I received my Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Interior Design from Winthrop University. Throughout my career, my main focus has been hand rendering, space layouts, finish selections and the more creative side of interior design.
Years ago, I had the opportunity to be an adjunct professor at Winthrop University. I taught classes on design and color theory, hand lettering, model building, architectural design, etc. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for teaching and working with people in creative environments.
I am thrilled for this chance to pursue my dream of owning my own business and spreading my love of art and teaching to my beloved community in Ridgeland and surrounding Low country areas.

Friday Night Pizza Party!! - 4.25 @ 5:30pm
Let's try something different! This Friday we will be hosting our first ever Pizza and Pottery night! Reservation required. Ages 12+ may attend without a guardian. All ages welcome!!!
Cheese and pepperoni pizza provided and 2-liter sodas as well. Feel free to BYOB as well.
$10 reservation required, amount due at the event is just the price of the piece you select to paint!
Stoneware Bouquet Vase Class - 4.8 @10:30am
Take a break from the ordinary and learn how to create this beautiful stoneware vase. Stoneware is more durable and can take higher heat than earthenware, therefore is the perfect material for getting these beautiful drips and variations.
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $50 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Curvy Mug Project 4.2@6:30pm
Come learn how to paint your own stoneware mug! If you don’t like the colors pictured, you are welcome to choose different colors. This is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you!
$15 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $15 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Honeycomb Mug Project - 4.23@6:30pm
Come learn how to paint your own honeycomb stoneware mug! If you don’t like the colors pictured, you are welcome to choose different colors. This is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you!

Peacock Bowl Project - 4.6 @3pm
Sunday Funday! Come learn how to create this beautiful bowl with me! If you don’t like blues, you are welcome to choose different colors. this is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you!
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Slab Building Workshop - Garlic Grater Dish
We are excited to offer our first hand-building technique class! I will teach you how to wedge the clay, roll your own slab, shape and texture your very own made from scratch garlic grater!
I will fire your piece after 24 hours of dry time, and you can return any time after that to glaze!
$20 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.

Private Party Deposit
Once your reservation has been confirmed, come here to pay your $150 deposit.
Pottery & Pizza Parties
$25 Non-refundable booking fee. Price is $150 for private party of up to 8 people. Includes 2 large 1 topping pizzas and 2 2-liter drinks. Does not include the price of selected pottery to be painted.
Item Pick Up Policy
Don’t Leave Us Hanging!
Pick-Up Deadline: Finished pieces must be picked up within 30 days from the date of purchase receipt.
Unclaimed Pottery after no 30-day pickup: If pottery remains unclaimed after the storage period, some pieces may be selected for an annual auction/sale, with proceeds donated. Unselected pieces will be disposed of.
